John LewistonCurrently studying at Exeter for a Masters in Applied Security and Strategy, so unfortunately often kept from my one true love; The Elektrospank. I write when I have the time, the inclination and the all-important inspiration, hence a potentially eclectic mix of subject matter. Lifetime Londoner keeping his ear to the ground for an uprising and the inauguration of a South London city-state, independent of its neighbour north of the Thames (game on Celia). Life after education is taking shape but remains about as clear as Turner’s Fighting Temeraire…if a small child was given crayons and invited to make additions to the work. Keep myself occupied with movies, TV, books and sports (Denver Broncos, Exeter Chiefs and Arsenal fan; my excuse for the latter is that the club originated south of the river, though I keep a soft spot for Crystal Palace). Work gets in the way of me playing sport, but I occasionally box and make it to the gym…but mostly on the internet.

Favourite Film: Platoon (1986)

Movie looking forward to: Her (2013)

Most disappointing movie: Troy (2004)…Gladiator was still fresh in the memory.

Desert Island Discs:

  • Dave Brubeck – Take Five
  • Alborosie – Kingston Town
  • Gustav Holst – The Planets Suite (if I had to choose one, Jupiter)
  • Jake Bugg – Lightning Bolt
  • The Cat Empire – Still Young
  • The Lumineers – Stubborn Love
  • Dr. Dre, ft. Snoop Dogg – Still Dre
  • Johnny Cash – Ain’t No Grave
  • Lana Del Rey – Video Games

Book of Choice: ‘Animal Farm’ (if I’m on a desert island, ‘Lord of the Flies’).

Currently Watching: Boardwalk Empire.

Favourite TV advert: Guinness Surfer Ad (with Horses), 1998.

RATIONAL fear: Being forcibly injected with Krokodil (unlikely, so being trapped in a room with an angry male chimpanzee is up there…granted, also pretty unlikely).
